One Moment Can Change Everything: Can Change You

Have you ever had those unforgettable moments in life? The ones that seem to alter everything in an instant, leaving a mark? The kind of moments that blow your mind in some way?

Those transformative experiences may have been something that happened to you or someone you know, something fun or exciting, a tragedy of some kind, or something you read: a quote or passage in a book to name just a few of those moments.

I've been contemplating these questions and realizing that I haven't thought about many those moments in a long time. The memories of those transformative experiences have faded, and I've even wondered why I once believed they were life-changing when, in reality, things didn't seem to fundamentally change me or my circumstances.

A client of mine recently put it this way:

She said to me, "I used to read something or have something happen that I'd stop and think. 'This is life changing.' I might bookmark a passage or a quote or some how save it and then...nothing. I didn't do anything with it and nothing changed.

The good news is now that you and I are are working together I am not only living that transformation. I am enjoying it."

I remember over 10 years ago, it was a cold New Year's Day that I agreed to go to a fire walking event with a friend. She described it as transformational and life changing even if I decided not to walk on fire, that it would still be a powerful way to start the new year.

After working through a series of writing exercises and taking part in the initial set up of the fire we went back outside to an area 10-15 ft long by 5-6 ft wide of burning coals with some flickering flames spread across the ground.

When it was your turn, you walked to the edge of the coals and asked yourself if it was for you to walk across the flaming coals. Coals that were around 1000+ degrees F in temperature.

As I stood at the edge of the flames, posing the question to myself, the answer came with such clarity and strength that I felt almost propelled and lifted from behind. There was no hesitation, only an unwavering forward motion until I reached the other side, where I looked for my shoes because my feet were cold.

I remember vaguely thinking, if I can do this, I can do anything!

Over time I lost the clarity of conviction and feeling that I experienced that day after walking across 1000+ degree flaming coals.

Embrace Your Spark: How to Connect to the Boundless Potential Within

Hi Love!

I wanted to share with you a lesson that I was reminded of recently - that we all have everything we need within ourselves. It's something that I've put on my list of agreements; a collection of insights and beliefs that have been life-changing for me and my clients.

I am going to let that thought sink in a moment as I close my eyes and breathe in...

This all starts with the Spark that is in each and every one of us, that IS each and every one of us. It's the part of us that is uniquely and unapologetically ourselves, but it's often hidden behind a protective armor or scars that we can't see. As we heal, transform, and grow, we can peel back those layers and reveal more and more of our true selves.

“the Spark” is YOU! It’s that part of you that is purely and unapologetically YOU! It's that Spark that lights our inner fire and keep us going when life gets tough, and it's that same Spark that can inspire us to try new things and keep pushing forward.

However, there are also things that can dim or snuff our Spark, which is why it’s time to…

In love and healing,

Jenn
